I had this problem on a 93 tbird, i had to replace the odometer gear, so while I had the gauge cluster out I removed the bulb from the check engine light. Not recommended, but i figure the dumby codes flash up more often than something serious, and If something obvious happens you will notice. I had an 02 sensor go bad, noticed the rough idle. You can still pull the codes anyways.
There is a CEL, Check Engine Light, on the 1989 Thunderbird.
Check engine light, rough running engine, no start at all.
Yes it does have a light, mine just came on
It means your engine needs attention.
usaully its one of the four sensors. mines always go out right before the smog check. fairly easy to replace.
That is the check engine light. That is the check engine light.
No, oil level does not cause the check engine light.
The service engine light is the same thing as a check engine light.
Yes, but us is OBD 1 and it is a different connector that is located under the hood.
The check engine light is the light shaped like an engine, or the light that states Check Engine (Soon). If this light comes on, it is time to see what the issue is with the engine.
on the master cylinder in the engine compartment
Disconnect the battery and wait 5 minutes. If you don't fix the cause of the problem triggering the light, it will just come on again.
