The maintenance required light only goes on after 7,500 miles since last 'maintenance'. The maintence required light will not turn off by replacing or changing anything, the only way to turn it off is by putting your key in the key slot next to the light.
There is no such thing as a '93 Pilot. In 2003 The Honda Pilot replaced the earlier Honda Passport.
Very common problem on the 2003 Honda Pilot. The tumblers go bad and it will cost around $400 for a dealer to replace. Honda should have a recall on this.
It should turn off automatically after you put in the correct tire pressure. I just did this the other day.
1- turn off the engine. 2- press and hold the select/Reset button on the instrument panel, then turn on the ignition switch ON (II) 3- Hold the button for approximately ten seconds until the indicator resets or go to Honda pilot 2003 owner's manual see page 69.
With the vehicle switched off press and hold the reset button on the dash. While holding reset button switch the on ( without starting it) let all dash board lights light up keep holding and the light should go out in a couple of seconds.
Turn knob to PILOT, press button down and light the pilot; hold button down for 60 seconds and release - pilot should remain lit; turn knob to ON. If pilot does not remain lit, turn knob to OFF, wait 5 minutes and try again, If pilot still will not remain lit, replace the thermocoupler.
