a 95 4 runner probably doesn't have locking hubs. it probably has a.d.d. or automatic disconnect differential which means the hubs are always locked. so all you have to do is shift the transfer case lever into 4 wheel drive.
No.
It's just a matter of removing the 6 hex bolts an pull it out. Then, grab the spare hubs and bolt them in. Yea, indeed all Suzuki hubs fit.
Are you trying to change them? jdauksz1@charter.net
No difference than any other wheel. Raise it up loosen the lug nuts and then remove the wheel. Simple as that. Was there a problem doing this on yours or were you curious about another issue?
did you get out of your vehicle and physically lock the hubs on the front wheels? there automatic locking hubs.
put it in 4x4, and it does it for you. or install locking hubs for 50 bucks.
With the exception of a few vehicles I have always been taught to come to a full stop prior to changing from 2 wheel to 4 wheel. Definitely from 4 wheel high to 4 wheel low. Subaru has vehicles the advertise changing on the go but I have not heard this about Toyota. I live in snow country and have 2 Toyotas an 86 and a 92. One has locking hubs I have to rotate and one uses self locking ones I can do from inside the cab. Both require that I stop and shift into 4 wheel.
no
If your truck has manual locking hubs you will have to manual turn them and then shift the shifter into the 4x4. But make sure you do not leave your locking hubs locked for everyday driving. It can tear them up. Also in 4wd your gas mileage will go down and it will be harder to stear, this is normal.
Locking hubs were not an option on this vehicle as built for the united states. If you truly have them this vehicle needs a mechanic eye to tell you how to replace there are many types pf locking hubs available after market additions
About $160 for manual locking hubs from JC Whitney, Chicago
difference between locking and fixed hubs is fixed hubs are driven the whole time this means that the axles and hubs turn as the wheels turn these are engaged at the transmission when needed locking hubs are free wheeling hubs, and when not locked the wheels will turn but the axles are not turning some have a switch inside cab to lock them, some you have to get out of vehicle and manuelly lock the hub at the hub these hubs when unlocked will not drive when transmission is engaged,
