How do you turn the passenger side airbag off in a 2005 Toyota Corolla?

The passenger airbag can be switched on and off with your key. The switch (looks like a lock) is located on side of the dash on the passengerside and can be operated with the door open only. While switched off, the indicator on the dash will light up to indicate that the passenger's airbag is disabled.
According to the manual, unless the airbag is switched off, both airbags will deploy in case of an accident, even if the passenger seat is not in use.
