How do you empty the trash in Mac book?

To empty the trash with Mac OS X click on the Trash icon in the dock and select Empty Trash from the menu that pops up; or, when on the Desktop, select Empty Trash from the Finder menu or the keyboard equivalent Command, Shift and BackSpace keys.

Clicking on the Trash icon in the dock will open the Trash folder where you can find the item you want and drag it out. With Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) you can right click on the item and select Put it Back from the menu and it will be returned to where it was originally.

With one finger on the trackpad, you can click the Trash icon and a popup window will display the items in the trash. On the top right, there is an "Empty" button. Click it, and the items will be deleted. With two fingers on the trackpad, a small popup window will appear, and will give you the option of either "Open" (which the bigger window described earlier will appear) or "Empty Trash". Pick "Empty Trash", and the items will be deleted.

Right click on the trashcan on your dock then click empty trash

Right click on the trash (click with two fingers), then press "empty trash". It will then delete whatever is in it permanantly. If you want to take it out of the trash, just drag it out.
