If your computer freezes there are really two possible things to do:

  1. Wait for it to unfreeze - Often the computer can freeze when it has to load a lot of content. Websites especially can cause this. Examples of hard to load sites are:
    • http://www.orange.co.uk - (this page only) Always freezes the computer. It unfreezes itself in a minute or two.
      • A workaround is to go directly to the content you need, like http://email.orange.co.uk.
    • http://direct.asda.co.uk - (first page of the site you visit) Performs the same as orange. The computer freezes for a minute or two then works fine for the rest of the site.
      • I haven't found a workaround for this.
  2. Restart your computer - Before you do this you should always give the computer a few minutes in case it will unfreeze again.

Hard shutdown and reboot. I just hold the power off button (about 8 seconds- and the computer will be forced to shut down) and turn it back on that's the only solution i can find when it happens to me.

Very occasionally the Esc key will work; sometimes Alt + Tab (to switch to another application) might work.
