To unlock characters in Mercenaries you have to get over 40,000 in single or
over 80,000 in duo.
For the actual game, you can only unlock more costumes.
For 1 costume for Chris and Sheva you have to beat the game then
purchase (for free) at the bonus section. You can also unlock 2 more
costumes when you get 25 and 30 emblems.

∙ 13y agoKeep this in mind that I actually don't have the game so I'm not 100% sure about this but I can say this. Try beating a place with someone that you already have like Chris and try getting a 4 star ranking or whatever you need to do in order to unlock a character. The game should tell you how to unlock the characters in the Mercenaries. So, just try and do what they say.

Resident evil 5's mercenaries is basically like Resident Evil 4's. If you've played Resident evil 4 then you what I'm talking about. Your basic goal is to kill as many enemies as you can during the time limit. Another cool thing about the mercenaries is that you get to unlock people as you progress. If you want to know how to unlock the other people just simply follow the instructions that are given before you actually start running around. You will probably have to get a certain score or rank to unlock a character just like Resident Evil 4.
