A lot of car company's have installed the You put the key in your door and turn it to the left or right and it will unlock all the door's ( NO BATTERY'S REQUIRED!!)
Can you not use you key to unlock the truck?
No I have a 2001 vw jetta and the remote will not start the car. You can buy a customized alarm system that will allow you to remotely start the car. A Vw does have remote door unlock and lock
If you armed your car and lost remote but just want to use spare key to start it. unlock door alarm will sound. get inside close door. wait until alarm shuts off. after about 10- 15 seconds. start car. If car does not start wait for alarm to cycle. then try to start again. Once started your alarm will never bother you unless you use remote to arm it. I have been without remote for 2 years and no alarm problems.
Try taking the battery out of the remote. One of the buttons is probably stuck.
The Viper Remote is a device that enables a vehicle to lock or unlock as well as start from a remote device. The main purpose of this is for increased security as well as convenience in situations of extreme weather.
You should be able to get in the Explorer , lock the doors if you wish , and then start the vehicle . That's what I do on my 1995 Explorer XLT
Lock the truck with remote then unlock truck manually with key
Try this: Turn the ignition to RUN (do not start), press the unlock button on the keyless remote, ignition OFF. Repeat 2x. Turn the ignition to RUN, press the unlock button on the keyless remote twice, the power locks should cycle to indicate successful programming. Turn the ignition OFF and test remote.
make sure all doors are locked and windows are up then press and hold start button on remote for 3 secs My remote does not have a single start button. It has 4 buttons; Lock, unlock, open trunk and alarm. I was told I have to hold down a combination of buttons to get the remote start to operate. I forgot what the procedure is. Any ideas?
need to be inside vehicle with key in ignition, then turn key all the way to right before start 2 times while holding down unlock button at same time with door shut. then let go of unlock button. then hold both bottons on remote down tell you hear door lock and unlock if you have more then 1 remote when first remote is done do 2nd remote aright after 1st is done holding it the same with both buttons down tell you hear door lock and unlock, its now done.
On my 99 turn key from off to on (don't start vehicle) 7 times--doors will lock and unlock, then push any button on remote to program. Maybe the same on 2003
Basic bottom line: if you lock with remote, you have to unlock with remote or the alarm will sound. If this happens to you (it's happened to me and gotten me a ticket for "disturbing the peace!"), here's what you do to shut the @#$%@# thing off:Per the dealer, insert the key and turn the ignition to the "On" position. Leave it in that position until the alarm shuts off (usually between 30-120 seconds).Turn the key to the left as if to remove it, but don't. Wait 10 seconds and start the car. This should get you back up and running.BTW, if you lock/unlock the car with the key, rather than the remote, you will not enable the alarm at all.
