If the mats are small, you can very gently pull them out. You have to be patient or else you'll hurt the rabbit. If you tear the rabbit's skin, this can lead to infection, cyst, abscess, etc. A single small mat can take a few days' work. This works much better when the rabbit is moulting and the under-fur is already loose.
If there are many mats or big mats, you should go to a vet for help. The vet will cut them out and then shave the fur. The rabbit might need to be anaesthetised if the mats are really bad; if not, then one person can restrain the rabbit while another person takes out the mats.
Do not cut or shave your rabbit's fur at home. Rabbit skin is very thin and very stretchy: even vets have been known to accidentally cut it. When you do cut it, it can quickly stretch to an alarming size!
On the other hand, you can't just leave the mats, because they'll pull at the skin, causing irritation and even possibly injury.
It's not normal for a rabbit to have mats in their fur. Only if they're sick, or have mobility problems (like Arthritis), or are living in unhealthy conditions will they develop mats. Rabbits are clean animals and groom themselves. In addition to the problem (the mats), you should treat the cause!
Brush it our, give him or her a bath then brush it out or if he or she needs a hair cut... cut the mats out
For a long hair have a paddle brush and a wide toothed comb. Make sure you unmatt al around the feet and ears :)

No. People only have hair in certain places, whereas dogs have it almost everywhere. So, there's your answer- no. yes, dogs dont have hair, they have fur.
Just like humans, dogs lose hair everyday. It's natural.
a puffball looks like a ball of hair but it is really my dogs hair ball [it is in theshape of a ball and it is my dogs hair ]. PS . he plays with it!
They have fur. Like most dogs who shed their fur terriers don't. When they lose their hair it has to be pulled off like our hair. They are dogs that people get if they are allergic to dogs.
there is really no difference.....most people say dog hair is what it is called when it falls off the dog and fur when it is on the dog...dogs with short fur/hair get less fleas then dogs with long fur/hair.... dogs also with white or light fur get more fleas then dogs with dark or black fur...
Dogs have hair all over. Including their armpits. There is hair in the area that would be an armpit, but dogs do not have arms, so they don't have armpit hair per se.
By scientific definition, ALL mammals have at least some hair. Since dogs are mammals, all dogs have at least some hair. Some dogs, such as the Mexican Hairless or Chinese Crested, have very little hair. Most dogs have quite a lot of hair which they leave behind in little wads that crawl under your bed and sofa and become dust bunnies.
