Microsoft offers an update service known as 'Microsoft Update'. This is a service from Microsoft that delivers updates for Microsoft Office and other Microsoft programs. Another option would be to go to the Microsoft Store, select your Office, then select available upgrades.

It depends. If you are running a very old version of Windows XP, then no. The computer would be too old to be compaitable with a newer version of Microsoft Office. For sure, if you have Windows Vista, 7 or possible a newer version of Windows XP you can get Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010.

It depends on what your requirements are. For most standard things it is fine to continue to use Office 2003. 2007 does give more features and a different interface design, which some older users find a little confusing at first, and it has a bigger capacity for data, like the way Excel has more columns and rows. See the link below for more details.

Most users wont find any real benefits from upgrading. Probably have more headaches than anything actually being honest with having to get used to the new interface. There are a few new features and a new interface and what-not, but office 2003 was/is a very good office program. Its fast, its reliable and its not lacking in any way.

Why is Office 2003 unable to open files from Office 2007?

Office 2007 uses a newer file format than Office 2003. For example, instead of .doc, a file from Word 2007 will be in the .docx format, something Office 2003 doesn't understand. For compatibility, Office 2007 can be made to save files in the .doc format. Office 2003 can also gain compatibility with Office 2007 file formats by downloading and installing an add-in at http://office.microsoft.com/search/redir.aspx?AssetID=DC101298101033&CTT=5&Origin=HA100444731033 More on this at http://new-digital-world.blogspot.com/2008/03/office-2007-files-to-office-2003.html

No, software is rarely 'backwards compatible' - Office 2007 should be happy to work with version 2003 files, but Office 2003 will likely reject 2007 files, due to it not being capable of understanding enhancements made after the Office 2003 software was written.

I got Microsoft office 2007 but I want to go back to my Microsoft 2003 how would you do that?

You would need to unistall Office 2007. To do that go to the control panel/Programs/Add remove programs/ click on office 2007 and remove it. Then if you have not unistalled office 2003, it should still be there.
