(The following is as of minecraft 1.7.3) Minecraft automatically updates it self when loading up (in both the download version and the browser version). If you're still having trouble or are referencing a mod, before logging in, click options, then choose force update. Another possibility is that you're computer is set not to update it. Try exploring you're computer's settings.
When you log-in it will now ask you to update if a new version comes out.
You can also update or clean install the core game by selecting Options at the login window and selecting "Force Update".
The Minecraft client will automatically update whenever a new update is released, assuming on your profile you have 'play on latest version'. You can manually set what version you play on by clicking 'edit profile'.
You have to download the new client from minecraft.net in the downloads section
An "out-dated-client" means someone needs to update their Minecraft app to the latest update.
Update your minecraft.
Client outdated means that the client (the software used to connect to the server) is out of date. You need to update your version of Minecraft.
If there is an update than when you log into Minecraft using the client it will say "Would you like to update" and you can click "yes" or "not now".
Minecraft is no longer in the Alpha stage. It has been updated to Minecraft Beta. Update your Minecraft game client.
Either the server needs to update or you need to update.
If you have not yet received the update screen asking if you'd like to update, simply log into Minecraft, and the screen should appear immediately. Click "Yes" and your client will update to 1.3.1. If you have received the update screen but chose no and now changed your mind, all you need to do is click the "Options" button on the launcher before you log in, then click "Force update". The button will change to "Will force!" and you can then log in and wait for the client to update!
no this will only work for one specific update at the time, as minecraft is updated so are the servers with it so if you want to go on newer server then you have to update your client also.
You update your minecraft or get the older version. If your minecraft version doesn't match the server's version, then you can't join it no matter what you do.
Simply go into 'edit profile' on the launcher and select which version you want to play in. This should solve the 'outdated client' issue.
If Minecraft hasn't updated for you, you may have to force an update. When Minecraft opens, check the force update option and then log in. That should make Minecraft update for you.
yes open minecraft click force update then play minecraft.
