To the best of my knowledge, the only way to update any PS3 game is to have your PS3 connected to the internet. If your console is connected to the internet, it will automatically install any game updates available when you select the game from the main menu. If you do not have internet connectivity, I do not think you are able to update your games.

Sure the PS3 games War of the North, Conquest, and Argorn's Quest all play on the system they were developed for. Of course other games developed for other Platforms will not work on the PS3. At the top of the code manager it says quick update and software update click on software update and let it finish. I had this same problem to and this fixed it. Warning: the update takes along time!:)
