Steps to updating your Nintendo DSi:
Prerequisites:
* A compatible internet connection with your DSI console.
Steps:
1: Turn on your console and locate the icon that looks like a wrench with a black background.
2: Navigate to the update option
3: Unless the prerequisites were met, you should have no problem through the updating process.

You can update the R4i Gold kernel with 4 steps:
1. Download latest r4i gold kernel from official website.
2. Unzip the patch into some files.
3. Connect the TF card to the computer through a USB reader.
4. Copy all files to the root directory of the TF card.
R4i Gold kernel update finished. you can start to play games now.

Most of them can support 3ds v4.5.0 and dsi v1.4.5. directly, no need any upgrade. but if your r4 3ds card is old verion, you need to download a update patch, and use a ds or dsi console to upgrade the r4 3ds card. then it can work on dsi v1.4.5.

try downloading the new update for the action replay, it should work- look for the update on google. also, it is easier to use an R4DS, just to put that out there
