Keep in mind, the 1st generation iPod Touch and original iPhone cannot update to iOS 4. For all other devices, the update is free. Just know that because you are forced to update to the latest version of iOS, the only devices you can still update to iOS 4 are the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2nd generation. All other devices will update to either iOS 5 or 6 using this same method.
You plug your device into your iTunes-authorized computer and wait for the pop-up that there is a new software version to update to. You click download and update (or whatever it says) and agree to terms and conditions. Then you must wait until the download an installation is complete before unplugging your device.
You need to upgrade to iPhone OS 2.0 (or wait a bit until 3.0 comes out).
There is no way to use an iOS4 required app on an OS 3.1.3 on an iPhone. You must upgrade to iOS4 (which, by the way, is now free) to use an iOS4 required app.
iPhone OS. No seriously it's actually called iPhone OS.
As of August 2014, it is not possible for a person to upgrade OS 9 to OSX. A person will only be able to upgrade to OS 9. 2.
The OS 8 is for the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 is a really popular phone.
that is the sad part about iPhones. you still have to pay full price for the phone even if you have an upgrade or not. here , iPhone3G is 99$ plus tax or tariff. and iPhone 3Gs is 199$ plus tax or tariff. (i would reccommend getting an otterbox for a phone like that , they are the best way to protect your phone and even keep it from getting wet. (: hope i helped,
The iPod touch is like a computer. The iPhone/iPod Touch OS is improved occasionally, and when it is, Apple charges for the upgrade. It's very much like buying Windows 7 to upgrade your PC from Windows XP or Windows Vista, or purchasing Mac OS X "Snow Leopard" to upgrade from "Leopard." The reason Apple does not charge iPhone owners the same fee is that iPhones are subsidized via a two-year wireless contract, which includes the cost of any upgrades to the iPhone OS. iPhone owners pay an initial purchase charge, plus at least twenty-four additional installments. iPod touch owners only pay for the device once.
The iPhone, along with the iPod Touch and iPad, run iOS, previously called iPhone OS.
Windows XP :-)
You might need to upgrade to the latest iTunes available, and if that doesn't work then you should take it to your newest Apple store : )
No Mac OS version can be considered to be in the direct upgrade path, as Mac OS runs only on Macs, and is incompatible with all of the software of Windows 2000.
There are websites that have opportunities to upgrade mac os x 10.5.8 to 10.5.9. These websites can be used for this upgrade purpose. When the download button is clicked, it will do everything automatically.
