2. In Cell B1, enter =LEFT(A1,1) and copy the formula down until you're equal to the length of the data in Column A. Let's say the range extends to Cell B100. This extracts the leading digit of the data set.
3. In Column C, enter the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9
4. In Cell D1, enter =COUNTIF(B1:B100, C1). Copy this formula down to Cell D9.
5. In Column E1, enter =D1/100 and copy this down to Cell E9
Column E now contains the leading digit frequencies.
