who would use the word "quadrant"
In many cases, it is not even possible to count signs of every member of a population. The population may be very large or spread over a wide area. In such cases ecologists usually make an estimate. An estimate is an approximation of number, based on reasonable assumptions.
The least invasive way to determine population size is to use the sampling technique. If you are able to determine how many subjects are in a few small areas, you may be able to estimate how many are in the entire area. An example would be, if there are 10 people living in one apartment building, and there are a total of 50 apartment buildings in the complex, an estimate of your population size would be 500, assuming there are no empty apartments.
Usually the first quadrant.

using protactor, we use to draw angles in anticlockwise direction and that angles are called positive quadrant angles. and angles in clockwise direction, these angles are called negative quadrant angles.
As the population is unknown they use certain methods of recorindg them and they can idenify atleast around 50,000. During the past few decades, populations have been surveyed primarily throughphoto-identification studiesline-transect countsThese methods especially the line transect counts are not that reliable so the population can only be estimated,
