The freon MUST be removed first. You slip the tool over the line where you can see an opening with a spring inside. The small end if the tool towards the connection. Push the tool in to the opening and pull the connection apart. There is more than one type of this tool. Some of the tools just slip over one part of the line and the other style goes over the entire connection. I have both and prefer the first one because I find it easier when I can see what I am doing.
with a quick connect tool the tool slides in the back side of the line then push the line together and press the tool in to the line then pull the lines a part you may need to spray a lube in the connection if the lines have a build up of debree in them for it to let go
What should you do if the air condition line freezes up?
Typically there is a plug into the compressor with two wires. They activate the compressor. Just unplug it.
* Have the refrigerant discharged and recycled by an air condition technician * Disconnect the negative battery cable and drain the cooling system * Disconnect the condenser line and discharge line from the condenser.Cap the fittings on the conderser * Remove the radiator * Remove the condenser retaining bolts * Lean the condenser back toward the engine and remove it from the car
Disconnect the line in two places starting from the master cylinder and blow each section with an air compressor.
If you can buy air line antifreeze, buy some. Open the hood. Disconnect the air line from the air compressor. Dump some of the air line antifreeze into the air line. Reconnect the air line to the compressor. Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol may also be used for this purpose in a pinch. Otherwise, idle your motor and wait - the air gets heated, and will eventually unfreeze the air lines.
Disconnect it from the power source (whether electrical or air).
Disconnect the fuel line at both ends, removed the fuel filter if it is an in-line filter, and blow the line out with an air hose from a compressor.
Ford manufactured vehicles use a specialty tool to connect/disconnect air conditioning lines. Check with your local auto parts retailer. They usually have a plastic set that works adequately for occasional use, and is reasonably priced.
Performance Tool Line Center's main purpose is to sell different types of products such as air tools and compressors, automotive tools, belts, bags, and tool holders.
You need to buy an a/c spring lock coupler line disconnect set at any auto parts store and they come in a set of (4)..........
unhook it from both ends and blow air through it Disconnect the line at the carburetor. REMOVE THE FUEL FILTER. Blow air through this portion of the line. If possible, remove the line at the fuel tank and plug the outlet in the tank. Now blow out the line between the filter and the tank.
