what helped me when i started using blender 3d is looking for videos on YouTube. the most helpful videos are by super3boyblender tutorials.
one quick thing i can help you with is... to rotate your view and look around hold down the middle mouse button and move the mouse around. if you don't have that little button hold down the alt key and click and move the mouse.
I suggest that you become a member of the Blender Artists forums (blenderartists.org). There you will find tons of people willing to help you learn Blender 3D.
