How do you use flint and steel in minecraft Pocket Edition?

You need to get a cobblestone pickaxe and mine some iron. Then you smelt the iron into an iron ingot in a furnace. Then you need to find some gravel and keep placing and destroying until you get some flint. Last you need to go into the crafting menu and craft flint and steel which is located in the tools tab.

Getting flint and steel requires little effort. You will need only at least a stone pickaxe and furnace and possibly coal (wood can be used). The flint part can be obtained from gravel. There is a random chance of getting flint from gravel, so keep mining that gravel for some flint! Also, you can place the gravel block back down and break it and the flint will still have a random chance to appear, so no worries about finding patches of gravel if you run out and don't get flint! The steel refers to iron, and iron can be found in caves or on the sides of the low end of mountains. You may also mine for iron. Once you smelt the iron, you should have iron ingots. On a 2 x 2 crafting (your inventory), you can make flint and steel by placing the iron ingot on the top left, and the flint on the bottom right. This will make flint and steel. take an iron ingot and 1 flint and go to your inventory, then you put the iron in the top left corner of the 4x4 crafting window, and the flint in the bottom right corner.
