The monkeys in Arcanists Mos Le' Harmless level aren't really very usable, mostly they just sit there and throw bombs, but they can be very useful if you position them correctly i.e. overlooking an enemy's tower. The monkeys throw their bombs in a straight line in whatever direction they're facing, which can be very useful. They don't jump and move slowly, so they're more like still assault.
