Open "My Computer"

Click "Tools" menu

Click F"older Options..."

Click "View" tab

Select "Show hidden files and folders"

Click "OK"

If you want to be able to see hidden files and folders on your Windows XP computer, from a Folder view, go to the menu bar and select "Tools". Then select "Folder Options" and then the "View" tab. Under "Advanced Settings" you will find an entry for "Hidden files and folders". Select the option you want.

Open any folder, from menu bar (press 'alt' if menu bar is not visible already) select Tools > Folder Options. A small pop up window will appear, select 'view' and under Hidden files and folder option click on the radio button with text as ''show hidden files, folders and drives" Click ok and you are done.

Try opening Windows Explorer, in Task Bar, select "Tools", then select "Folder Options". Next select the "View" tab. This should be displaying Folder Options. In the Advanced Options you should be able to select or de-select, the hide or unhide file check box, in the hidden file folder options. There also be to hide or unhide system files. "Hide" is recommended setting for the system files.

On Windows XP, hidden folders by activating 'show hidden files and folders' in Folder Options. Folder Options can be accessed from any Windows explorer window.
