Usually, most computers will "wake-up" when you click or move the mouse(thinkpad on laptops), or pressing space bar or enter. If all before mentioned options fail, a hard restart is the only way. Hold down the power button for five seconds. Wait five more seconds, and turn PC back on. beapparent.wetpaint.com

Then turn it on. Just kidding, press the home button, if that does not work, then press the sleep/wake button at the top left of the itouch, not the screen. This is for second gen. If that doesn't work, press and hold the sleep/wake button. If that doesn't work, then you're pretty much screwed.

To take a screenshot on a Windows computer press the keyboard key that is marked 'PrtScn' - you will find it immediately to the right of the Function keys. Open an image editing program, such as Paint, and use the Paste command - using either the Edit... Paste menu or Control + v on the keyboard. You will now have a picture of the entire display as it existed when you took the screenshot. If you only want to copy the current window or an active dialog box hold down the keyboard Alt key as you take the screenshot.
You just hold the sleep/wake button on the top of the ipod until you see the apple logo on the screen.
