Very top is ABS, next two down are marker lights, next two down from that are flashers/turn signals, bottom is brake lights, center is ground.
if you have a plug on the back of your truck then there is a blue plug over top of the emergency brake pedel on top of the 50 way wire harness and your truck should have came with the plug for the electric brakes in the glove box and the wires are marked as to where they go where you hook them to your trailer brake controller i hope this helps you Allen if you have a plug on the back of your truck then there is a blue plug over top of the emergency brake pedel on top of the 50 way wire harness and your truck should have came with the plug for the electric brakes in the glove box and the wires are marked as to where they go where you hook them to your trailer brake controller i hope this helps you Allen
Take a light tester and check the pins at the truck side trailer plug. With the truck set for running lights check for power at the pins. If there is power then there is a loose or bad wire on the trailer side. If there is no power then there is a power problem on the truck side.
first thing i would do is check the trailer wiring for a good ground and any breaks in the wiring. then check both ends of trailer/truck pigtail to make sure no loose wires and no dirt and a good tight fit in the plug ins you might check the light bulbs as well, you also need to check the voltage at the pigtail..if that is good go back under the cab to the plug for the pigtail where it comes out of the cab..if that is good go to ther fuse panel.(#29 I think). if ther is voltage there...it could be the relay or the wire...you'llhve to trace it out to see.
You have a grounding problem at the trailer. The white wire is the ground on trailer wiring. The taillights are brown, the signals and stops are yellow and green. Sometimes the white wire will loose its continuity with the truck, causing the lights to black out. It could also be a wiring issue with the trailer itself, but most likely its the ground giving you feedback and causing the blackout. run a wire from the ground contact on your plug back to a spot on the tongue and secure the end of the wire to the trailer at that point. Do not rely on the contact of the trailer with the ball hitch to establish a ground.
if it has the plug in the back of the truck for trailer brakes then it is under your dash. it should be a female plug. about in the middle of the dash(more twards the left) you can get a plug from ford that plugs right in and it will have leads off of it to wire right to your brake controller. makes it super easy
check the ground wire on the trailer. if it is corroded at all they may not work. take a file to where the ground wire is hooked up to make sure it is on bare metal
Need to know what engine you have.
Make certain that the wiring is connected properly but also, check the ground wire. Don't count on the hitch to be the ground for the trailer. There should be a ground wire that goes to the electrical plug, make certain that it is connected properly.
You have to buy a kit with relays goes on passenger side kick panel comes with trailer plug for the rear plug and play
the trailer plug was getting pinched by the spare tire under the bed of the truck. re tape the wire and relocate it so it does not get pinched.
AnswerIs there an extra connection for a rear power outlet? I think so.The extra hot wire in your trailer plug is for your camper if your towing one. This charges the camper battery while your driving and can discharge your truck battery if you leave it connected and are drawing on your camper electrical system. I found this out the while I was switching my trailer plug and found I had an extra hot wire. The fuse for this is either in the fuse box with the others or if it was added after production is in line at the left front fender corner.
Blown bulb - or loose wire !
