If you already have a Vauxhall 12N kit fitted, buy the Vauxhall 12S kit (part number 93160573, £42.50+VAT). This is ready to go with socket, wiring loom, all fuses and relay, and just plugs into your rear electrical centre (inside the first aid kit stowage door on the left of the boot). Essentially fuse 13 (20A) is the supply for battery charger & fridge, wire through a relay so that pin 4 is live (via 10A fuse) and pin 6 is switched via the relay (via 10A fuse). The relay can be switched from fuse 25 (check this, it's around number 25, only one is switched with the ignition and that's the one you need), the Vauxhall kit comes with a piggy back connector. The 12N kit has 2 spare pins for the 12V supply (5th from left on top row of pins in trailer module - the row nearest the latch with bigger pins) and reversing light (2nd from left in bottom row). No need to tech 2 or similar. If you haven't got the genuine Vauxhall trailer module fitted, you'll need to piggy back the wiring to other wires in the rear electrical centre and reversing light, but this will not give you the bulb check feature or the safety of using manufacturer wiring & fuses.
The wire ampacity of #12 copper wire with an insulation factor of 90 degrees C is 20 amps. If the load is of a continuous nature e.g. baseboard heaters then the wire has to be de-rated to 18 amps
