the hot and neutral are wired forwards the ground and neutral are wired backwards
A simple manual wire stripper is a pair of opposing blades much like scissors or wire cutters. The addition of a center notch makes it easier to cut the insulation without cutting the wire. This type of wire stripper is used by rotating it around the insulation while applying pressure in order to make a cut around the insulation. Since the insulation is not bonded to the wire, it then pulls easily off the end. This is the most versatile type of wire stripper. Another type of manual wire stripper is very similar to the simple design previously mentioned, except this type has several notches of varying size. This allows the user to match the notch size to the wire size, thereby eliminating the need for twisting. Once the device is clamped on, the remainder of the wire can simply be pulled out, leaving the insulation behind.
The letters EN , on a welding electrode , indicate "electrode negative" , that is the electrode is to be used with a DC current , in the negative position, or polarity.
The most highly recommended type of binding wire used to bind steel is stainless steel binding wire. Annealed steel wires and galvanized steel wire can be used as well.

reversed polarity in an electric circuit, means whoever was doing the wiring had no knowledge of wiring. reversed polarity means that wires ( mostly on outlets) are incorrect. the black wire goes on the gold screw, the white goes on the silver one & the bare wire goes on the green screw. most home centers have a library of how to books. they average around $20.00 each.
In a normal distribution system, one wire is always connected to earth. Reverse polarity occurs when the live and neutral conductors on a system become reversed or 'swapped over'. It's a very dangerous situation with serious safety implications.
the polarity of the battery is reversed
Reverse polarity means that the direction of an energy flow is opposite of normal. In house wiring, it would mean that the hot wire (in the US, the black wire) was crossed with theneutral wire (in the US, white wire). Appliances would still function, but the flow of current is reversed (and unsafe)
try running the batteries flat by leaving a load like alight connected for a couple of days. wire the bilge pump the right way round then recharge the batteries

Yes in AC circuits the terminology reversed polarity means the hot and neutral are reversed to what they should be. In DC circuits reversed polarity means that the positive and negative terminals are reversed to what they should be.

yes.you can get 5v output even when the polarity is reversed. In a 5v battery, if u reverse the polarity, then u'll get the same 5v as output , but in the opposite direction.(i.e.,)-5v(negative 5 volt
