An anecdote is a a story about someone... usually interesting, unique, or funny... not boring everyday stuff. So, writing a personal response involving an anecdote would be where you respond to whatever question it is, using a unique story about your life. For instance... when people start talking about embarrassing moments, I remember my high school swimming and diving class. One of my friends in the class worked at Casa Bonita (a famous restaurant in Denver, noted for its indoor cliff divers and children's activities) as a cliff diver. Some of us were scared of going off the high dive, so out teacher thought that having this guy demonstrate his cliff diving skills for the class would be beneficial. We all gathered around the side of the pool to watch him. He climbed up the ladder, and did the most perfect, beautiful dive I have ever seen... he was slim and beautiful, and when he entered the water, there was hardly a splash, he was so smooth. We all stood in awe... especially when we saw his shorts floating on the top of the water. He came up from the bottom of the pool grinning, knowing that his dive had been perfect, and expecting the applause that we usually gave excellent dives. ... We kind of just stared. Then he saw his shorts. He grabbed them, and dived back down to the bottom of the pool to put them on. This time, when he came up, we did applaud... although I don't think he wanted to be the center of attention anymore. ... anyway, that is a story from my life, responding to the idea of embarrassment. Try something similar for whatever you need to respond to... think of something in your life that epitomizes the idea that you are trying to get across, and tell a short story about it.

You may find this frustrating, but anything you write, provide you aren't plagiarizing someone else, is a personal response. It comes from you, the writer, therefore it is personal.
An anecdote is a short story of a personal nature. To write one, simply explain in some detail a personal occurrence or experience.
You begin the question with a capital & end it with a ?as in "What do you want to do tonite?" - response - "Well what do you want to do?"
an anecdote is a little story about someone or something... usually funny. its the first thing you write in an essay. it draws the reader into reading the rest! hope this helped :)
When writing a personal response write it like any other letter. The only major difference is the use of friendly words and phrases as opposed to formal ones.
Job applications do not normally involve anecdotes, however, if there is some anecdote which strikingly illustrates your particular abilities in that line of work, you could include it.
A personal anecdote is acceptable in all three of the essays, only when it gives a clear example of your perspective about a topic in an appropriate way, meaning it contains appropriate content.
