In a melodic minor, the 6th and 7th notes are raised by a chromatic semitone when ascending, and then they are lowered by a chromatic semitone when descending.
For e melodic minor, the scale goes like this:
Ascending: E, F#, G, A, B, C#, D#, E
Descending: E, Dâ™®, Câ™®, B, A, G, F#, E

An E natural minor scale is written with a one-sharp key signature, so you just write out the scale in semibreves and add an additional D sharp for the harmonic minor, and two additional sharps to the sixth and seventh degrees when ascending in the melodic minor (C sharp and D sharp). You lower the sharps and revert back to the natural minor when you descend through the scale.

Ascending means to write the factors from least to greatest.
To notate an arpeggio in sheet music, you typically write the notes of the chord vertically with a wavy line connecting them, indicating that the notes should be played in a broken, ascending or descending fashion.
I play it like this: The index finger bars the entire neck at the second fret. The ring finger is placed on the A string on the fourth fret. The pinky finger is placed on the D string on the fourth fret. (The middle finger does nothing)
