Acrisius recieves a prophecy saying he will be killed by Danaë's son, and does everything he can to prevent it. Danaë and Perseus survive, and go on to live their lives, and Acrisius, not knowing of Perseus's survival, goes on with his, thinking he has avoided his fate, until he hears a great hero is returning to Argos, and discovers it is Perseus.
