The five pillars of Islam could be practiced every where irrelevant to any culture or country conditions and whether the country majority people are Muslims or non Muslims.
The first pillar is testimony. Do you think the American culture can cause any difficulty in witnessing that no god except one God the one and only one and that Prophet Muhammad is His prophet and messenger?
The second pillar is praying. Praying is for 5 times a day. Each praying takes few minutes. You can pray in any dry clean place at home, office, hall, garden, open air,... or the like. The praying time is flexible for each praying. You can pray single or in any available gathering. Do you think the American culture can cause any difficulty in performing the praying?
The third pillar is alms giving or paying Zakat to the poor and needy people when your money saving exceeds over one Islamic Hijra year certain minimum. Do you think the American culture can cause any difficulty in fulfilling this pillar?
The fourth pillar is fasting. If you have problems in fasting due to, for example, being on travel, being sick, pregnancy (if valid), feeding a baby (if valid), or any religion wise acceptable excuse you exempted from fasting during Ramadan and you may compensate for them later. Do you think you have any difficulty in fasting the month of Ramadan?
The fifth pillar is performing Hajj (pilgrimage) if you can afford it from the health, safety, and expenses aspects. Do you think the American culture can cause any difficulty in performing it?
