People who suffer from anorexia tend to weigh less than the average person and often have significantly lower body fat percentages. This - along with a lack of proper vitamins and minerals - can lead to a person with anorexia feeling cold, often when others are not. Fat and skin and muscle are the key factors that keep people warm. They are like a layer of insulation around our warm core and organs. Without this protective layer, the body must work harder to maintain a proper body temperature. This is very difficult, so the core temperature often drops a few degrees, making the person feel cold.

You need bady fat to stay warm, and as anorexics do not have more or less any body fat, they cannont stay warm. The have no fat to keep their heat in, even with jumpers, blankets etc.

They are always cold because their body shuts down all the non-essentials (metabalism, body temp..ect.) and focuses on working on what you need to live (heartbeat, flowing blood). Plus, after all their body fat is gone, they have nothing to keep them warm.
