People live in cities, and I'm sure people live in Austin, Texas. For example, the might drive cars, leaving emissions. In fact, this leads to a number of things, including:
-Poorer air quality
-Increased rain due to greater concentration of particles (but in Texas, maybe not so much rain)
-And, of course, this leads to a little bit of global warming
