How does Bella get the idea that edward is a vampire?

Well, when she goes to LaPush with her friends, Jacob Black tells her one of the tribe legends about how his tribe is supposedly descendant from wolves (which turns out to be true). In the story, Jacob tells Bella that the Quileutes came upon a group called the Cold Ones. She later searches the Cold Ones up on the internet and finds that Edward fits the description of one (pale white, ice cold skin, strength, speed, immortal).
