With a giant sword hanging in her underwater cave. He beheads her.
Edit by Afewmangos: This is a more specific answer. He travels down to the bottom of a swamp/lake in the middle of the forest, where Grendel's mom tries to choke Beowulf to death. Beowulf manages to escape. Then he spies a very old sword called Hrunting hanging from the wall. He grabs it and beheads her. The blood from the monster melts the blade of Hrunting, and Beowulf carries back to Hrothgar just the remaining hilt.
Beowulf kills Grendel's mother by using a giant's sword he finds in her lair. After an intense underwater battle, he is able to decapitate her, ultimately defeating her.
He finds the sword made by the giants, He uses that to kill Grendel's Mom.
While Grendel's mother is hard for Beowulf to defeat, he IS able to use a sword, where as he has to battle Grendel bare handed.
The dragon is beowulfs song which most people don't' know cause it doesn't really tell you... and the golden horn Beowulf got from the king is a symbol. If Grendels mother has it he shall not attach but it soon comes back to it's owner and it comes back to Beowulf when he becomes king. So Beowulf and Grendels mother got to gather and he gave her another son, he just couldn't help it. so Beowulf really doesn't kill Grendels mother he just says he does.....
Grendel's mother mourns the death of her son by seeking revenge on Beowulf, who killed him. She attacks Heorot in search of retaliation, ultimately resulting in a battle with Beowulf himself.
you mean hangs grendels hand if so than because to show that he can kill Grendel you mean hangs grendels hand if so than because to show that he can kill Grendel
