All he says is "Then leave him out." Basically every time Cassius has an idea, Brutus says it's a bad idea and the other conspirators, like bobble-heads, nod and agree with Brutus. Cassius is prepared to go some distance to make sure that Brutus joins the conspiracy, so he keeps backing down even when Brutus is wrong, and he is clearly wrong about letting Antony live. Cassius keeps his cool, but underneath he must be frustrated by being vetoed all the time. There is a terrific irony when Brutus says that Cicero should not be made a part of the conspiracy because "he will never follow anything that other men begin." Brutus has joined a conspiracy that other men, Cassius especially, have begun, and he refuses to follow Cassius's lead, becoming as unsuitable for the conspiracy as he imagines that Cicero will be, for the very reason he wants to reject Cicero.

Why does Antony not appear himself to brutus after Caesar's death?

When Julius Caesar was assassinated Mark Antony fled Rome because he was afraid that the conspirators would attack Caesar's supporters. As this did not happen he soon returned to Rome. Meanwhile, Marcus Junius Brutus and Gaius Cassius Longinus (the leaders of the conspiracy) fled Rome because the Roman crowd was hostile to the conspirators. Caesar was very popular with the middle and lower classes.

Why did Brutus the roman empereror propose an attack against the triumvirates forces?

After Brutus[and others] assassinated Julius Caesar, he moved to Athens then Crete. In 43BC Octavian was Consul of Rome, he declared that the murderers of Julius Caesar were " enemies of the state". This news came to the ears of Brutus, and upon hearing that Octavian and Mark Anothony were at odds, and neither had an army that could protect Rome. Brutus decided to take Cassius and his 17 legions and march on Rome. When Octavian and Mark Anthony heard that Brutus was on his way, they decided to combine forces[total of 19 legions] and meet Brutus in battle. The "Battle of Philippe" ended in a stale mate,Brutus 1- Octavian 0, Mark Anthony 1- Crassus 0, with Crassus committing suicide. The second "Battle of Philippe" was then fought, with Brutus being defeated, Brutus did escape, but committed suicide shortly after.

Critical analysis of act4 Julius Caesar?

The Triumvirs (Octavius, Mark Antony and Lepidus) decide which of the conspirators shall live and which shall die. Mark Antony assures Octavius that Lepidus does not and will not ever have any serious power... The two men start planning their attack on Brutus' and Cassius' forces. Brutus learns that Cassius has finally arrived. Brutus is angry with Cassius, Cassius saying he has done his friend no wrong. Brutus wanting privacy from his troops, tells Cassius to step into his tent where he will discuss the issue further... Brutus angrily attacks Cassius first for contradicting his order to remove Lucius Pella for taking bribes and then Cassius himself for his own dishonesty. Cassius is upset by this but eventually Brutus chooses to forgive his friend. We learn that Portia, Brutus' wife has died, over one hundred senators have been put to death by the Triumvirs and that a large army led by Mark Antony and Octavius is approaching their position... Brutus is greeted by Caesar's Ghost which tells Brutus he will see Caesar again at Philippi.

What was Cassius role in the conspiracy in Julius Caesar?

He was the first of many to stab ceasar. He also said, "Speak hands for me!" It was the last thing said before Caeser's murder.

What battle plan does Cassius propose?

Cassius wants to wait where they are so that they are nicely rested and fully energized while Antony's troops would come tired. The battle would then be won by them. On the other hand, Brutus feels that they should march to Antony. This is because the people living in that area were only on their side as they were forced to be. Thus, if Antony marched towards them, they would not be able to recruit many people on the way making their army very big and unbeatable. Also, they would be well refreshed. In the end, it was Brutus' plan that was chosen.
