In my opinion, Elinor is the one character who does NOT change, the one less altered by circumstances. Her outlook on life, destiny, fate a.s.o. does not seem to change, as her well-balanced rational mind enables her to face all sorts of adversities. She manages to preserve her good reputation and the respect she commands from others, things I believe she values most in life. The only visible change is the outburst of happiness at the end of the book, as she finally allows herself to show her deep emotions.
