Dish Network is primarily regulated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the United States, which oversees telecommunications and broadcasting services. The FCC sets rules regarding spectrum allocation, licensing, and service quality for satellite television providers like Dish Network. Additionally, Dish Network must comply with federal consumer protection laws and regulations enforced by agencies like the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
The main function the FCC is that they block offensive language onTV shows and nudity, if you have a television series and you do not follow the FCC rules you will have to pay a fine.
The early years of television included the network known as the DuMont network. DuMont began operations in 1944 as station WABD in New York. Paramount Pictures provided the early funds for the station. The network, however, lacked a radio station which its rival networks already had. TV experts have stated that a radio network was essential for signing on TV affiliates. Complications with the FCC and complicated court rulings prevented DuMont from owning as many stations as its rival networks. Due to all this, DuMont ceased to operate in 1956.
In the US it is the FCC.
That would be the FCC (Federal Communication Commission)
ABC is not nor has it ever been a TV station. ABC is a television network. It grew out of NBC at the advent of television in the late 1940's because of FCC monopoly rules. So, yes, it was one of the first.
Yes the FCC regulates everything on TV, Radio, Newspapers etc... But anybody can say what they want as long as they can pay the fees.
