So when a person falls ill it is believed that it is through Allahs mercy that they have been made ill because it is a way of getting their sins forgiven. Also illnesses like other troubles are a test from Allah and so if one remains firm and patient and turns to Allah and asks for his help rather than losing hope then he will be rewarded.
