Mr.Bennet teases his family in Chapter 1. After he pays his visit to Mr.Bingley, he comes home and does not make a huge deal about the meeting. The girls and Mrs.Bennet bombard him with all these questions about him and Mr.Bennet teases them by giving now answers. Also, Mrs.Bennet is being sarcastic and says that she wishes she never even thought as Mr.Bingley for her daughters. Mr.Bennet does the real teasing to his wife when he tells her he wish he knew before she said that so he would have never had to meet Mr.Bingley at all.
Mr. Bennet entertains himself by reading books, making sarcastic remarks, and observing the dynamics and follies of his family members. He enjoys staying out of social interactions and finding amusement in the absurdities of those around him.
He reads his books in his library and when he is not doing that, he laughs at the ridiculous in the people around him and especially at his wife.

Mr. Bennet views Mr. Collins as an amusing yet bothersome individual. He finds Mr. Collins' obsequious manner and lack of intelligence entertaining, but also sees him as a nuisance due to his constant attempts to ingratiate himself with the family.

Mr. Bennet shocks Mrs. Bennet by agreeing to Elizabeth's marriage to Mr. Darcy, despite Mrs. Bennet's objections. This decision goes against Mrs. Bennet's wishes and expectations, causing her surprise and distress.
Mr. Bennet had some kind of limitation on his ability to will his estate to his family; Austen says that Mr. Bennet's property may only be inherited by a mal. After Mr. Bennet's death his land will go to Mr. Collins, his closest male relative.
Mrs. Bennet wanted Mr. Bennet to take the family to Brighton.

Mr. Bennet blamed himself for Lydia's elopement, believing that his lack of guidance and discipline towards her behavior contributed to the situation.
At the end of "Pride and Prejudice," Elizabeth Bennet marries Mr. Darcy, Jane Bennet marries Mr. Bingley, Lydia Bennet marries Mr. Wickham, and Charlotte Lucas marries Mr. Collins.
Mrs. Bennet accused Mr. Bennet of always giving their daughter Lydia the preference.
Mr. Bennet was pleased with Elizabeth for rejecting the proposal.
