It depends on what is meant by "express" and "beliefs". If you are referring exclusively to Muslims' relation with the Divine, this is usually very peaceful and secluded. Muslims pray in Mosques and will give faith-based dissertations. This expression is similar to people of other faiths.

If by "beliefs" we expand this to political, social, economic, and military aspirations, it suddenly becomes much more diversified. There are numerous Islamic Charities that help the needy, clothe the naked, help to heal the sick, and other positive welfare-type goals. These Islamic Charities can be rather robust and dedicated to their mission. There are also Islamic groups that focus all of their energy on convert unbelievers to Islam in order to dignify God and to show those people the proper path. There are organizations with expressly political aims and coordinate protests and, depending on the country, riots when they feel that Islam is being attacked either legally or by speech that bothers them. Finally, there are militant, paramilitary, and terrorist organizations that profess to follow Islam and to advocate the removal of non-Islamic States and the removal of politicians or individuals in the Islamic World who hold views contrary to how they see Islam as being implemented politically.
