sonic unleashed has a couple things in common with sa1 but not really sa2 not much if you get it for the wii but a bit for 360/ps3 I suppose that Sonic Unleashed does have a sort of related storyline towards Sonic Adventure 1. Sonic Adventure 2 does have a way different storyline.

The idea of Sonic Unleashed did start as the third instalment in the 'Sonic Adventure...' series on the Dreamcast. These are arguably the last great console Sonic games. Ever since these titles on the Dreamcast, Sega's last console, the series has been getting worse, with less focus on Sonic and more on other characters and modes of gameplay, like Shadow the Hedgehog's shoot-'em-up style (in the game of the same name) or Sliver the Hedgehog's telekinesis (in Sonic the Hedgehog). However, the similarities to the scrapped Sonic Adventure 3 were only in the plot and the vague idea of Sonic transforming into something. The game quickly began to depart from the usual features of the Sonic Adventure games, like multiple characters and various gameplay styles (which were still speed-driven) and among them, the Chao gardens, where the player could breed, raise and enter competitions with chao, virtual pets that change appearance somewhat with their change in attributes. Sadly, they were not in Sonic Unleashed. In fact, the game itself is no more similar to Sonic Adventure 1 or 2 than any other recent Sonic game after 2001. This is possibly because the idea had already been done or that Sonic Team was trying to do something new, but the fact is that many would spend more time in the Chao gardens than actually playing the main game. So, along with Sonic being the only character (albeit in two forms) and no Chao gardens, Sonic Unleashed does lose some replay value

Sonic Unleashed is not supposed to be Sonic Adventure 3. If it is then it will be because Sega are not good at making all their Sonic games run on one storyline. What he said. And if it is supposed to be SA3 then it was probably made like that because Sega wants players to experience Sonic in a lot of different ways from classic 2D to swordplay. It has been said by developers that this game was originally supposed to be Sonic Adventure 3. This would have been excusable IF the game had the Sonic Adventure staples, (Sonic, Tails and Knuckles all playable, a story that wasn't too childish, but also not a melodrama, upgrade items, giving characters new abilities, making it more fun to replay beaten stages, chao gardens) But Sonic Unleashed had none of those, leaving it lacking in replay value. After beating a story that somehow managed to be childish for the beginning of the game, but then jumping straight to being a melodrama that still manages to be lacking in actual story development once Chip gets his memory back. Sonic adventure, on the other hand, starts out using only Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, which lasts until the first sky chase level. At the beginning of Sonic adventure, the plot is simple, and to the point: Sonic and Tails are racing Robotnik to find the chaos emeralds, while Knuckles is trying to restore the shattered Master Emerald. Despite this, it's still complex enough not to be boring, and the complexity of its story gradually increases. After Sonic and Tails run into Knuckles, and Robotnik retreats to the egg carrier, then the story gets slightly more complicated. It's not until this point, that Amy, Big and E-102-Gamma are incorporated into the story. Also, I absolutely HATE Sonic only titles.

What the different between action replay V3 and action replay DS?
Action Replay v3 is the older version of AR for Gameboy Advance SP. Atleast from the perspective of Gameboy Pokemon, most of the cheat codes for Gameboy Advance SP were written for this software. Action Replay Ds is for the Nintendo DS and thus will only work for DS titles. Action Replay Duo does work for both DS and Gamboy Advance Sp titles, although the functionality seems limited. I just got the Action Replay MAX, which was the last AR released for the Gameboy Advance SP....none of the codes supplied for Pokemon worked with it, let alone any of the codes written for the Action Replay v3!!!!
