Yahoo news has its own staff, writers, and ability to customize the pages so it only shows news articles that you are interested in. AOL acquired Huffington Post in 2011, and no longer offers its own separate news site; instead, it forwards the user to the Huffington Post.

You can not use yahoo messenger to talk to AOL instant messenger but you can use meebo.com to use yahoo, aol, and many other messengers all at one time. It does not have to be downloaded. Just a regular internet website.
