∙ 6y agoYes you must have a Valid visa to go to Brazil. Depending on where you live,is which consulate you will have to apply at. Each Brazilian consulate process Brazil visas by jurisdiction.
If you live too far or can not find time to apply for a Brazilian visa, you may also use a Brazil Visa Service.

Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and the following Los Angeles counties: San Diego, Imperial, Kern, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura.
All you have to do is visit their website, follow the step by step instructions, and send the required documents to their office, and they will handle the rest, and FedEx your Brazil Visa back to you.
If you have the time or you live close to the Brazilian Consulate near you, you can also apply in person.

∙ 12y agoThere are several ways to get the Brazilian citizenship:
1- Born in Brazil (no parent nationality requirement)
2- Have a Brazilian parent and register the son/daughter in the consulate
3- Must have a permanent visa, a home, job and money in Brazil and live at least four counsecutive years without major law offense in criminal record (usually, any penalty of at least one year) and must have good health (do a great service; have good skills at a profession; wed with a Brazilian or have a Brazilian son/ daughter/ mother/ father may reduce the time requirement)
4- Everyone who works in a Brazilian diplomatic mission or consulate for 10 consecutive years may also requeire for Brazilian citizenship without regard about the origin, except clean criminal record
5- Be a wife/ husband of a Brazilian diplomat for 5 consecutive years and live in Brazil for just 30 days (yes, just this)
There are several other minor details. The Brazilian law for it is the Federal Law 6815/1980.
