The most dangerous bear is the black bear. There were reports in the past wherein black bears were the attacker. From all the reports, the cause of the attacks was when the human cause the bear to be surprised.
The Kermode, or Spirit bear, is a genetic subset of the American black bear. It faces the same dangers as any black bear. Grizzlies have occasionally killed black bears, but the main danger any bear faces is loss of habitat, human encroachment, poaching. The Kermode is protected from human hunting in British Columbia. Enemies of the grizzly bear are primarily other grizzly bears, wolverines and human hunters and poachers.
An adult grizzly bear is 9 ft tall on hind legs. An adult black bear is 6.5 ft tall on hind legs. So, the grizzly bear would be about 2.5 ft taller than an adult black bear. Also, adult grizzly bears weigh about 300 pounds more than a big boar black bear.

No! No human, farmer or not, could kill a black bear with a knife because they could get injured or killed themselves if they attempted to do such an idiotic thing. If a black bear is getting in the graineries or trying to kill a calf or a lamb, the farmer had better have a rifle on hand to shoot the bear with, not a knife.
