Predator Prey populations have an indirect relationship, if predators increase prey decreases which ultimately results in predators decreasing and prey increasing again. This constantly happens in wildlife especially with deer.

Describe how predator-prey relationship can be a mechanism of population control?

As the predator population goes up, the prey population goes down, and vice versa.

True or false If a prey population decreases the population of its predator probably will decrease as well?

True, if the number of prey decreases, the predators will have nothing left to eat and will slowly starve. In some cases the predators will become cannibalistic (eat its own species) to prevent it self from starving to death. So the answer is true, if a prey population decreases the population of its prey will decrease as well.

What happens to the predator population when the prey populations decreases?

It also decreases because the predator will have no food supply and starve or have to leave the area.

What learned behavior does a raccoon have?

Learned behavior could be putting a bowl of food outside on the porch, and repeatedly doing that. Eventually, it will return in search of the food on the porch. Learned behavior is something out of its norm.

How many children are victims a year in munchausen by proxy syndrome?

0, nill, /dev/null.... how many professionals are going to admit that they participated in a crime against a child? and when found out it's covered up. How many treatment centers are connected to state government in some way? How many centers are NON-profits? They able to pay for damages caused by professional ignorance and neglect? What recourse is left for the child on their discovery of the crime. NOTHING. Lawyers seldom will even talk about the case, much less take one. Professional considerations. ( read. bribes) Also remember, Victims of the State, have NO Rights. As the State is immune!! The weakest prey, the easiest target, for a predator. That why so many try to get so close to the children? Why is there lag time between the increase in the prey population and the predator population?

Because when a predator feeds on prey, the prey population goes down. When the prey population goes down, then so does the predator population. When the prey population recovers, then the predators soon after prey on the prey, and it repeats.

What is meant by 'predator prey cycle'?

the predator-prey cycle is the increase and decrease in population size of the predator and its prey

How do a predator and its prey control each other’s population?

Well, If there is no predator, then the prey's population will be too high and it will eat all of the food it has. Also if there is no prey, then there will be no predator.

How can the change in prey affect the predators?

Oftentimes, the predator holds the population of a particular prey in check. Without predators, the population of the prey will flourish. If the change of predators you refer to means 'type of predator', the prey will adapt -or vanish.

How can a prey control a predator's population?

The prey could easily be poisonous and kill the predator, cutting down population. Or the prey is over populated and the predator has more food causing them to be able to produce more population!

What happens when the cycling of matter in ecosystems is disrupted?

The predator eats the prey in the food chain. As the population is stable, the food chain won't wreck. There's an interdependence between the prey and the predator in the food chain. The prey should be there to feed some food to their predator, and the predator also needs to be there to control their prey population from exploding. Changes in animal population can wreck the food chain. If the prey population decreases, the predator population would also decrease as there'll be less food for them to eat. If the predator population decreases, the prey population would increase because less predators means less preys gets hunted down, so there'll be more preys. If the prey population increases, then the predator population would also increase because there'll be more food for them to eat and there should be more predators to take more control patrol of their prey population. If the predator population increases, then the prey population would decrease because more predators means more preys gets hunted down, so there'll be less preys. Animal Population Change Formula: Prey Decrease→Predator Decrease Predator Decrease→Prey Increase Prey Increase→Predator Increase Predator Increase→Prey Decrease

Why are predator-prey relationships important in an ecosystem?

Yes. The predator, of course, needs food, but the prey benefits too because if the predator did not eat the prey, the prey population would grow and grow until food ran and and the prey population would die of starvation.

Describe how predator-prey relationship can be a mechanism of population control?

As the predator population goes up, the prey population goes down, and vice versa.

True or false if a prey population decreases the population of its predator probably will decrease as well-?

It is true to say that; If a prey population decreases, the population of its predator probably will decrease as well.

Why does the peak population of a predator lag behind the peak population of the prey?

The peak population of a predator lags behind the peak population of the prey because the number of predators will not increase until after the food supply increases. This means that the prey must increase first and then the predator population can grow.

Relationship between a predator and prey?

A predator-prey relationship tends to keep the populations of both species in balance. As the prey population increases, so, after a slight lag, the predator population increases as well. As the number of predators increases, more prey are captured.

What relationship occurs between prey and another organism?

predator kills and eats prey for its survival. When the predator population increases, the prey population decreases because of too many hunters. When the prey population decreases, the predator population decreases because of the lack of food. Then, the prey population increases because there aren't that many predators and the process repeats itself.
