They both produce electricity
a high power, often class C amplifier.
The large power plants like power stations have turbo-generators (generators driven by turbines) within them. Steam is made by various means depending on the type of power station (nuclear, coal, oil, gas) and this under pressure drives the turbines. They in turn drive the generators (these are normally known as alternators in power stations because they produce alternating current). Smaller power plants such as a portable one that you can carry around are normally powered by a petrol engine, but this engine drives a generator producing either alternating or direct current depending on type.
No. Construction equipment used to build the station will burn fossil fuels and produce some pollution. When the station is complete it will produce pollution free electricity. The station will require some electric power from the grid to operate, and some of that electricity may be produced by coal powered plants which do produce pollution, but the geothermal power station will not produce pollution.
The generators at the power station are built to deliver voltage/current with alternating characteristics, and this is preserved all the way from the generating station to your house. It's completely intentional, because AC is much easier to handle, distribute, and make the conversions between long-distance and short-distance transmission that need to happen along the way.
so i see your cheating on pennfoster so i see your cheating on pennfoster
Transmission lines use alternating current in order to support stepping-up and stepping-down of the voltage with transformers. Voltage is stepped-up at the power station, sent over the transmission lines, and stepped-down at the receiver. (This is a simplified explanation.) By stepping-up, you reduce the current carrying requirement of the lines, and they can thus be smaller. You could not do this with direct current as transformers only work for alternating current.
Ferrybridge is a coal powered power station.
it is solar powered.
It used to use coal. I don't think it has been converted to gas powered but not sure on that.
It is powered by solar panels
Batteries can only store electricity, not create it. Batteries can only store and release direct current (DC), while power plants produce alternating current (AC). Since it takes up a lot of space and it costs a lot to use batteries, the batteries might not be able to store all the electricity that is produced. This is why an electrical generating station does not use batteries to generate electricity.
