How does a dream catcher work?

The way I see it, if you believe in it, it will work for you. It also depends on your religion. Some people DON'T believe in any idea like this. Others do. For now, I use a dream catcher, and it has worked for me!!!

The design of a dream catcher is a bit like a web, often with crystals and feathers and other bits that make it look nice and help with the "working."

The Dream catcher is hung over a bed, most often a crib and allowed to do its job of protecting a sleeper from nightmares and other such sleep disturbing things, while being decorative enough that some people buy and hang them just for their look.

Bad dreams are supposed to get tangled in the web, and absorbed by the crystals, while good dreams can slip through and "visit" the sleeper.

The traditional dream catcher was intended to protect the sleeping individual from negative dreams, while letting positive dreams through. The positive dreams would slip through the hole in the center of the dream catcher, and glide down the feathers to the sleeping person below. The negative dreams would get caught up in the web, and expire when the first rays of the sun struck them.
