It tells you the elements of a fire, therefore it will help the easiest way to put out a fire.
The 3 elements are: Oxygen, Heat and fuel.
An example:
A chip pan fire using oil. Foam extinguisher, as the foam sits on top of the oil, cutting off the oxygen.
If you put out a fire, you're effectively removing the heat component of the fire triangle, which consists of heat, fuel, and oxygen. By eliminating heat, you disrupt the chemical reaction that sustains the fire. This action prevents the fire from continuing to burn and helps extinguish it.
Fire is like a triangle. It is made up of oxygen, what is burning, and what is making it burn. If you take out one side of the triangle, then the fire will go out. Two other ways to put out a fire would be to smother it or to cut off its oxygen supply.
The term "fire triangle", or combustion triangle, refers to the inherent principles in the methodology of making a fire. The "fire triangle" is a model for understanding the resources and methods needed to make a fire.
Now..... Don't use water!! Use sand ..... i think that heat is removed
It is believed that a careless worker put either a still lit cigerette or a match in the trashbin to cause the fire
The three elements of the fire triangle that must be present are Heat, Oxygen, and Fuel. This has recently been changed though from the fire triangle to the fire tetrahedron. This includes Heat, Oxygen, and Fuel as well. But, it also contains a fourth, chemical reaction.
the fire dies because there is 1 thing taken out from the fire triangle. adding on the fire triangle is a triangle in which u see the things needed for a fire to urn !!
The fire triangle consists of three components - Heat, Oxygen and Fuel. All three MUST exist together for a source of ignition to start a fire, which in effect is a chemical reaction. If you remove one of these elements, then the reaction can not occur and hence, no fire.
A forest fire is difficult to put out - just look at forest fires that have occurred in California for several days and even weeks. Water, retarding agents and backfires are the preferred methods. DON'T USE LIQUOR! I'VE TRIED IT
Sprinklers in a factory remove heat from the fire triangle.
The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire was a giant fire that took place on March 25 1911. It killed 146 people, mostly immigrant girls. The whole fire was over in 18 minutes. The owners of the factory Max Blanck and Isaac Harris were put on trial but not found guilty.
The three points in the fire triangle are fuel, heat and oxygen. To stop a fire you need to take one of those elements away from the triangle :)
