How does a freshman guy tell if a freshman girl is flirting with him?

If you see more than just a few of these often, the girl is flirting with you:

- Eye Contact/Staring: Most of the time, there is a lot of eye contact if she likes you, or you'll turn your head and she's staring at you. However, if you've shown signs you like her, she may be watching to see what you'll do next.

- Jokes: You make jokes that she always seems to find amusing or funny, whether by a shy smile or outright laughing.

- While she's talking (say, in front of the class or telling a joke or something to more than a few people) she looks over at you a lot to see if you're watching, and what your reaction is.

- Finds ways to talk about things you might be interested in, whether to you or to people near you, just to get you to talk to her. ex: "I was just listening to Coldplay last night, I love their music. Have you seen their new music video?"

- In groups or while you're talking to lots of people, she watches you intently, because she has an excuse to do so.

- Girly girls will act girlier and be giggly around you. They think you are attracted to girls who are more feminine. One of the obvious signs of this is sitting out in gym, watching you a lot.

- Girls who aren't as girly will show off more in class or physical activity. They may sound nervous while in class, but will be vicious and show off their strength in gym or a sport.

- While talking with friends casually, she stands at a position not directly facing you, but slightly facing towards you, so that you get the full effect of her and her words.

- While in the same class or working with you, she may play with her hair by twirling it, running her fingers through it, or constantly redoing her ponytail.

- She stands near you, either while you're talkign to each other or listening to someone else, and sometimes almost too near.

- Compliments you subtly. ex: "Hey, you're not that much of a nerd, (name) is way nerdier than you."

- Tries to act sexier around you. She may lower her head ever so slightly and open her eyes wider, or raise her head a bit higher and narrow her eyes. When you're saying something a bit foolish or amusing, she may cock her head, narrow her eyes, and smile mischievously.

- Dressing more distinctly than usual, more stylishly or more revealing, how she thinks you like it.

Anything that just doesn't seem how she'd act normally might be a clue!
