by showing you care, i mean really care ,have empathy,relate to what your client is feeling. it helps if the mentor has been there, has had or has experience in whatevr it maybe as client. listen and dont judge or blame client, listen and give all the support you can give. this is the start of a relationship,the client will feel comfortable around you and will be able to open up and talk about whatever the case may be. help with resources and guide them in the right direction.
