Yes, It also keeps it from getting too cold/hot.

Without the atmostphere the earth would disentigrate within minutes, due to the atmostphere not deflecting the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. All life would instantly burn. And the planet would be rendered un-inhabital.

But, Let's take venus into effect. It's atmostphere has the "Green House Effect". Which causes the suns rays to stay inside and become trapped between the planet and the atmostphere, thus heating the planet for several hundred degrees hot. F*.

There is a natural greenhouse effect, supported by the water cycle and the carbon cycle, that ensures that the earth is kept insulated and warm. Greenhouse gases capture and hold the sun's infra-red radiation from the surface of the earth. These gases then radiate the heat out in all directions, including back down to the surface of the earth.

Do any of the planets have a atmosphere?

Yes. Venus has an atmosphere. The atmosphere is so thick and full of green-house gasses, we could not see the surface. The green-house gasses keep it very hot on the surface, as well.

Which gases in earths atmosphere help keep surface temperatures warm enough for life?

carbon dioxide, methane, and water vapor.

Does the moon help keep your planets in balance?

No because the gravitation of all the planets keeps it in balance

How does the planets' distances from the sun affect their atmosphere?

It's harder for planets closer to Sun to keep their atmosphere as gas particles are carried away due to solar wind. Far away from Sun, the solar wind effect is minuscule.

What are two main greenhouse gases that keep the planets atmosphere warm and livable?

Water vapor and carbon dioxide.

How does the absence of an atmosphere affect the Moon's surface temperature?

Well, atmospheres help absorb heat, so it traps in heat from the sun to make it warmer, so the absence of an atmosphere on the moon affects it by making it cooler because without an atmosphere, there is no way to trap in and keep heat.

How is gravity vital to your existence?

It's not all that vital. All gravity does is collect hydrogen clouds to make stars, collect stars to make galaxies, collect stones to make spherical planets, keep atmospheres around planets, keep loose objects on the surface of planets, and keep the planets in orbits around the stars. If you can do without those details, then there's no real need for gravity.

is life possible on mars

Why do we have planets in Space were we don't live?

Space was born with planets we don't live in like Mars, Sun, And Jupiter. It need other planets to help keep Space alive forever. It can't just have Earth.

How does the grivity effect the planets and moons?

Gravity helps to keep the planets in orbit. It also helps to keep the moon's close to the planets.
